A man in Birmingham was told he was a pervert for taking pictures of his own children on the slide at the funfair.  A nearby mother said that he was taking pictures of her children in order to put them on the internet for paedophiles to wank over.  How the hell did we get to this horrible, stupid and vile state of suspicion and paranoia?  The News of the World has been telling people for nearly ten years that society is infested with paedophile rings and that there is a paedophile at every school gate, and that one lives on every street.  They have turned the paedophile from a human into a monster, in the same way that the Nazis once de-humanised the Jews, and the Boers did the Blacks.

The NOTW has pledged to continue its own perfidious brand of ‘investigative journalism':

This was their response to being defeated in court by a man named Max Mosley, who they had pilloried in their paper by means of paying one of the pro-dommes he considered a friend to betray him.  As you can see in the above the NOTW equates SM with preying on children, and it has declared its intention to continue its crusade against us.

We are citizens of a democratic country, and the best selling Sunday periodical in our country has declared war on us as potential paedophiles.  If we will not defend our freedom against this pernicious enemy, we do not deserve to retain that freedom.

Whatever the principles involved, the events of the last three weeks have proved that a national newspaper in a democratic country can swing public opinion away from the judicial system in favour of mob violence.  This undermines the basic principles of our society, and points the way down a very sinister road.  Next time the NOTW want to have a few people lynched, it will be that much easier for them to do so.  Next time it may not be the paedophile they call the menace to society."

"This is all about the public's RIGHT to know , what you are entitled to read, and who decides what you are NOT allowed to know.   What, for instance, would your response be if your child's teacher enjoyed inflicting pain on others and took part in S&M orgies with prostitutes ?  Wouldn't you want to know?  Don't you have a RIGHT to know?

Or the Cabinet Minister and the Archbishop caught indulging in their dark, secret sexual fantasies?   Don't you have a RIGHT to know?

At present that most precious of basic freedoms will continue to be decided by a judge and the courts, not by a legal statute of Parliament. Or YOU.
