Description: |
Walk on the Wild Side is a munch in a dog friendly pub preceded by a dog walk in a park, held monthly at different London locations. Even if you don’t have a dog, come join us regardless in the sunshine. Here is the group link for more info: https://fetlife.com/groups/134140
The July event will be at Richmond Park, Richmond-upon-Thames. Here’s a map of the park if you’re unfamiliar with it:

We’re hoping for a warm, sunny day as the intention is to make this a picnic munch. The meeting point is the Richmond Gate at 2pm. The park is roughly 1.3 miles from Richmond station and the Richmond Gate is the easiest to access from that direction via Richmond Hill. The 371 bus is said to stop close to the gate.
As Richmond Park is so big, it may prove difficult to link up with anyone who is running late. If you are running late on the day please call/text the munch phone in advance of the start time. The phone number will be put on this page on the morning of the walk.
Given the size of the park, I will outline the key points of the planned route:
- Richmond Gate to Ham Gate
- Ham Gate to the Isabella Plantation
- Isabella Plantation to the Pen Ponds (middle of the park)
- From Pen Ponds walk north west back to the Richmond Gate
The picnic will either be inside of the Isabella Plantation or at Pen Ponds depending on how early the group wish to stop for a while.
From 5:30pm, we have an area reserved at The Marlborough pub, 46 Friars Stile Road, Richmond TW10 6NQ. The pub has a large beer garden.
Hope to see you there,
LoulouVB & Norwegianjesus
