To let ourselves be intimate we need to drop our defences. To do this we must feel safe, knowing that we’ll be met with tenderness, authenticity, love and respect. This is not as simple as it sounds but there are approaches and practices that support us to trust and open up more.
As we learn to use them, we experience an emotional de-armouring – a dropping away of hard outer layers to reveal more of the tender human inside – allowing greater intimacy with ourselves and with others. In this workshop, internationally-acclaimed conscious sexuality teachers London Faerie and Marti take it back to basics, sharing the things that allow you to create safe and intimate connections with those who matter to you.
This isn’t just about sex; this is about getting closer to everyone in your life. As you learn to work with these fundamental elements and discover how they work together to create safety, it becomes easier to find that precious place of intimacy. It’s always vulnerable – that’s the nature of opening to ourselves and to others – but at least the mechanisms become easier to understand.
