Description: |
With the improving weather, another of our strolls along the Thames is planned for Saturday, 9 May.
The start will be at Kew Bridge station at 12.30pm. I will be the Old Codger wearing glasses and carrying a tatty blue rucksack.
We will start off on the south bank heading eastwards towards Chiswick Bridge where we cross to the north bank and continue on to Hammersmith and Fulham Palace where we will hopefully be able to stop for tea.
The final stretch of the walk will be to Putney Bridge where some people may want to go in to the Wetherspoons just across the bridge on the side of the Thames on the South Bank. East Putney District Line station is at the end and it is also just a short walk to Putney National Rail station.
According to the South-West Trains webs-site, a train leaves Waterloo at 11.52 and arrives in Kew Bridge station at 12.20 stopping at Vauxhall (interchange with Victoria Line) at 11.56 and Clapham Junction at 12.02 There is also a train from Feltham at 12.11 and arrives in Kew Bridge at 12.26.
The total distance of the walk is about 6½ miles and I hope to see lots of people there.
