This rope jam is a space open specifically to queer people of all sorts. We welcome:
1. Anyone in the LGBTQ+ rainbow. If you do not identify this way, please look at the plethora of events run in London by Anatomie, Peer Rope and others. There is definitely something for you.*
2. Same sex couples of all configurations.
3. Non-normative pairings, I. E. Female/femme/trans riggers.
4. Poly groups.
5. All levels of rope, from complete novice to expert. THIS IS NOT A TAUGHT SESSION. If you know nothing about rope, we advise attend at least one of the beginner sessions run by Anatomie or Hithin Bitches (if appropriate) or that you find someone experienced that you can play/work with. We're a pretty open crowd, so this shouldn't be too hard.
Info about event and venue:
1. The venue has step free access, and full use of an accessible toilet with the Pret next door. (They also have a toilet downstairs) For more info on access, please get in touch with event organisers.
2. We recommend bringing your own rope. If you don't have any, some rope will be provided, but please be nice to it as it is being given to us as a loan. :)
3. Concessions: this event is pay what you can. We recommend between £5-£10. We will not ask for proof or question your finances. If you can afford more and would like to give that, thank you! If you can't afford the recommended amount, please come and do what you can. You are most welcome.
4. Currently this space has NO SUSPENSION. This will change for future events, but please for now keep your rope work on the ground.
Event rules:
1. No means no. Consent is key! If someone says RED organisers reserve the right to stop a scene at any time.
2. NO CRUISING! People are welcome to come and tie with people they meet at the event. However, this is not ropey speed dating. Aggressive cruising will not be tolerated.
3. This is an open space for those who identify as LGBTQ+ (Obvs), D/deaf and disabled, people of colour, any age, size, class, etc. Shaming and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
4. We expect you to be responsible for your own skill level and safety. DO NOT try advanced rope work (such as suspension) if you've never done it before!
5. Nudity is welcome inside the space which will be made private and secure. Types of play that are compatible with rope (such as wax) are welcome provided you keep the space clean. However, this is primarily a rope event so please keep that in mind when setting up scenes.
