SATURDAY
S – shape (semi-suspension)
Introduction to the concept of S-shape pose on the floor with 2 distinct progressions to evolve to semi-suspension.
S – shape continued (floor to full suspension)
Exploring the S-shape using waist rope. Taking the pose from the floor to full suspension.
Maya’s Predicament (full suspension) :
Agura/Frog inverted suspension, using a pulley system. This suspension includes instruction on building a pulley system and understanding the dynamics (students should bring 4-6 carabiners and/or rings (2) and new/stronger rope)
SUNDAY
S – shape with strappado (semi-suspension)
Exploring the S-shape using strappado.
M – shape suspension (full suspension)
Introduction to the concept of M-shape pose with distinct progressions.
The Swan that Carried a Rifle (full suspension):
Looking at the Teppo tie, and creating a suspension using a pulley system
Please note: number of constructions may vary according to class level and speed.
What to bring
People should be advised to bring carabiners for this workshop even if they usually use a ring, and 10 lengths (or more) of 8m jute or hemp rope.
Skill level required
Intermediate/Advanced: meaning that this workshop assumes a solid intermediate knowledge and working experience of suspension concepts and safety, a functional boxtie and line management.
