Mistress Kate finds out...
What is the difference between running a club and being a punter? The difference between work and relaxation, between stress and fun. The boy said running a club would take the fun out of fetish - now I hate to admit he's right but after a year running Subversion you can see why it wasn't too much of a strain to take a good few months off.
So how the mighty Absolute manages to run a club that is beset by venues issues that retains everything that was in our original ‘mission statement' is beyond me. I know a couple of sods on the scene that are determined to see the last of her club - well let me say this to you.....grow up, get over it and remember KARMA. What goes around comes around and you will get your come-uppance for your fatuous reports of 15 year olds, and for putting the fear of god into decent venues.
Anyway rant over (albeit briefly).
So weekend loomed and the boy and I decided to make a long one of it. We booked into 196 Bishopsgate - studios apartments in the City. Just lovely - big enough to swing a cat in and with kitchen etc so if we didn't want to stray from our room at all then we could cook in cost effectively.
Friday found us wandering around the refurbed Spitalfields - lots of lovely restaurants and wine bars, and spent the evening at a break beat night at Fabric - hark at me, eh! Music aficionado! (Not!) Then Saturday arrived so we strolled down to Borough Market for some epicurean delights and then wandered up to Expectations for delights of a more hardcore nature.
I was expecting to buy a new bitch cap but maybe my head has shrunk (impossible I hear you cry!) but it didn't look right, so I settled for the cutest leather hat thingy to top off my regulation shirt for the Subversion G I June. The boy settled on a rubber England shirt - very patriotic. A new paddle and poppers and nearly £200 later we felt ready for the night ahead.
At 11pm we arrived at Subversion at Abacus. Love the club. The venue was spot on - salubrious, plush, with large play area, viewing/seating behind, long bar and good dance area. All v.lavish, all v.nice. A blonde Absolute was accompanied by her team, Screamer and Jo who meeted and greeted all the London fetish favourites. So SO good to catch up with you all. Mistress Vamp, Monkey and MisChevious all GI'd to the max, Earl and Tank Girl (who was restrained by her arms making introductions interesting), David, Jules (very nice dress indeed), Dave and Annie, Demonic, Master Keith, Evie, Slutty, Alexia, Ray, Mandi, Marky, Dark Raven, bobette clicking all the action - the list goes on and on. Basically the LFS were out en masse. I had such a lovely time catching up with my favourite pervs.
Si was doing a great job on the first set, the second set was less great and Bas returned to form for the 3rd. The dance floor was never empty - and I have said it a million times for someone like me who likes to dance as much as play the DJs are mightily important.
I had a bit of a play with the boy using great equipment provided by Playpenz but really spent much of the night catching up. I even managed a snog with Vamp although I have to say two Doms snogging is a bit of a battle of tongues!! An invite was extended from her for me to go to Purrr - her new girly night at the Gate - if the pictures are anything to go by there is NO WAY my husband would let me go....I don't think I'd ever come back!
Subversion I salute you. You have luxurious venues, excellent DJs, great play kit and all the best people go there month after month. For beginners to the experienced, from the dancers to the players this club encompasses everything you could possibly want. I have fuck all to do with the club now so I can speak with out bias. Subversion is by far the best club in London.
