EGO visits Club Lash..

I really like Manchester, the mix of dignified old industrial buildings and 21st century creativity are linked by small touches like the reef knot brickwork by the canals. The city is a joy if you like street furniture as much as fet furniture and always makes me smile but this time I was there at the right time for Club Lash and the smile became a grin.

Finding Lash would have been easy as the instructions from Roissy were spot on except for one minor thing. The venue is called The Tunnel, the sign outside says Legends. A quick call had me intercepted and retrieved by The Prof before I could wander into any dodgy areas where I might happen to someone.

The greeting at the door from Miss Jinny and Lady Helen exactly sets the tone for the club which is fun and friendly throughout. No changing room this month because of another club using part of the venue but the toilets were clean, the mirrors well lit and the banter hilarious. Cowboys and Indians was the theme so I quickly changed into Minni TeeHee (shorter version of Minni HaHa) and investigated.

Tiny dancefloor raised up in the main bar was in use all night but never got loud enough to make talking difficult. Bar prices so low I thought the gorgeous blonde bargirl had made a mistake. Lots of places to sit and chat and far more folk joining in with the dress theme than most London events I've been to.

Madam_E (if Custer's officers had really looked like that, the Native Americans would have stood to attention) explained the dungeon rules. Roissy prefer to have players only in the dungeon but with good viewing all round and this venue is perfect for that. Camo netting around a pit area gives it cosiness while watching is easy from above the rail. The play was intimate and focussed and watching from behind the netting gives a kinky voyeuristic touch.

I missed the bit about no drinks though (sorry). They close earlier up there and I didn't get around to playing but I got time to fulfill a promise to get HHarvey started on whip throwing and to get involved in a rope trick swapping group that got very silly indeed.

Great to see Adina and Michelle and other folk I normally only meet at Night Of The Senses too. Up all night talking of cabbages and kings so I wasn't on best form for the munch at the Via Fossa the next day but we made it thanks to a lift from a guy called Zebedee who had a ferret in a box.

The munch was as friendly as the club, with lots of online folk saying hi and even lower bar prices. A long chat with Ropepuddle comparing the trials and joys of helping organise Kinklusive and Kinkfest, we could have swapped scripts. Got told off by Lord James for whipcracking though, which was all the Prof's fault, he told me to! I was chuffed to be invited on for a meal after with what seemed like half of the munch but Zebedee's ferret needed excercise so it was time to go.

I left smiling and liking Manchester even more, its just so friendly.
