Kim sings the praises of the London Fetish Fair...
Love Lane, which was once a red light district and is named for the services that were once dispensed here is now the home of The London Fetish Fair - how very appropriate!!!
The London Fetish Fair - the name says it all! After all London is the home of fetish, we have the best designers, clubs and the best market! All the stalls cater for the fetish community, not the Goth scene or the retro 50's lot. The stands also are quite fairly paid for and not supplied free! That's fair. That's the Fetish Fair.
The LFF, as it's become affectionately known over the last 10 years, has found a new and brilliant home in The Prodigal, Love Lane EC2V near St. Paul's Cathedral. For those of you that don't know how quiet the City of London is on a Sunday you should be told that parking and driving is very easy. There are no Sunday family-outings to contend with and no residents-parking problems. Also if you do like to attend the market wearing fetish gear then no-one will see you!
The Prodigal has a great feel to it. It's fairly new, so no worries about were you sit and stand. The toilets are enormous and lush - yes - they really are gorgeous. Trying stuff on is no longer a chore as there is loads of space in the toilets. Once you get in, you're greeted by familiar faces - Heather's lovely door girls have done the job for years and a friendly face should never be underestimated.
The bar is very spacious and the layout of the stands allows ease of shopping with plenty of space between each stall. The first area you see is the bar which is great when you're looking for mates. The extra long bar also serves bar food and will deliver it to you where ever you sit in the venue. You are always bound to find a seat as there are plenty of tables to eat and rest your drink. Not enough bar stools for barfly's like me though! But loads of leather sofa areas with coffee tables. There is a very large upper floor with balcony, so you can actually see who's upstairs and they can see you! Plus even more leather-sofa lounge-areas and tables for dining.
I for one like to go to the market to shop and socialise in a lovely environment. Well done Heather - year after year you do deliver this. The London Fetish Fair is number one.
