Every event requires three things:
- A **Promoter**
- A **Venue**
- An **Event Template**
These components form the foundation of your event listings — and the best part is that they’re reusable for your future events.
---
## Promoter
A **Promoter** is the person or business organising the event.
This is separate from your login account because one person may want to create multiple promoter profiles — for example, to manage different types of events or brands.
Examples of promoter profiles can be seen [here](https://www.londonfetishscene.com/posts/profile/promoter).
---
## Venue
A **Venue** is the location where the event takes place.
All venues are considered *public*, meaning once you create one it becomes available for all event organisers to use in their listings.
Before creating a new venue post, please check whether a suitable venue already exists to avoid duplicates.
You can browse existing venues [here](https://www.londonfetishscene.com/posts/venue).
---
## Event Template
An **Event Template** contains the general, non–date-specific information about your event.
This makes recurring events simple to manage — you won’t need to re-enter the same details each time.
The template is attached directly below your event instance when displayed.
---
## Event Instance
The **Event Instance** is the date-specific part of your event.
Behind the scenes, this is stored as an `event_instance` post type.
Each event instance includes:
- A descriptive title
- The event date and start time
- Cost and dress code
- A short description introducing that specific date
---
### Event Structure Overview
To make it clearer, here’s how everything connects:

---
## Full Event Display
Once your event is created, you’ll be taken to its display page.
Each full event listing includes:
- The **Event Instance** (date-specific details)
- The **About Section** (Event Template)
- The **Venue Section**
- The **Promoter Details**
See a live example [here](https://www.londonfetishscene.com/post/fox-den-dine-november-2025).
---
## Editing an Event
- **Venues** cannot be edited because they’re shared across organisers. Create a new venue if you need changes.
- **Post titles** cannot be changed once created.
- For other updates, if you have permission, you’ll see an **(edit)** link next to the title of each page.
- To edit the Promoter or Event Template, open their individual post pages rather than the main event page.
